Schedule choir rehearsals without emails

Aligning the availability of 20 to 50 choristers is a real balancing act. Everyone has their own constraints — work, family, other activities — and finding a time slot that works for the majority often takes weeks of back-and-forth. With DooDates, the choir director creates a poll in just a few minutes, saves choristers by section into reusable Groups, and uses the Consensus filter to immediately spot the time slot that brings together the most voices.

In 3 steps

1

Create the poll with AI chat and organize by section

Describe the time slots to the AI: "choir rehearsals, 4 options Thursday evening or Saturday morning, 2h, parish hall". The AI generates the poll with the location. Create separate Groups by section (sopranos, altos, tenors) to send targeted polls based on the scenes you have planned.

2

Send it out and set a deadline

Share the link in the choir's messaging group. Set a response deadline so you have everyone's availability before your next committee meeting. Choristers vote without signing up, right from their phone.

3

Consensus for the slot, duplication for the next session

The Consensus filter hides time slots that too many choristers have declined — only the viable dates remain. The Blockers filter reveals whether an entire section is blocking a date. Once the slot is set, duplicate the poll in one click for the next session.

Frequently asked questions

Use the Consensus filter: it automatically hides time slots that too many choristers have declined. Only the dates that work for the majority remain. The Blockers filter rounds out this view by identifying whether an entire section is blocking a date.

In the poll creator, click "Groups" then "Create a group". Name it "Sopranos", "Altos"… and add the members. You can then send separate polls based on the scenes you have planned — each chorister only receives the polls that concern them.

From your dashboard, click the three dots on the poll and select "Duplicate". The new poll opens as a draft with the same settings. Change the dates, reshare — choristers vote again on the new proposals.

No. They click the link, enter their first name, and check their availability. No sign-up, no app download.

Yes. The Engagement filter sorts choristers by response rate. You can see exactly who's missing, and follow up with those people in one click from the results page.
