Wedding date poll: find the perfect date

Choosing a wedding date means juggling the availability of family, witnesses, the venue and the caterer. DooDates lets you quickly ask your loved ones about a few possible dates before booking anything. Anonymous mode for honest answers, the Blockers filter to spot constraints from your essential witnesses, and an automatic deadline to keep things on schedule.

In 3 steps

1

Set your candidate dates with the AI chat

Describe what you want to the AI assistant: "wedding in June or September, on a weekend, not July 14". The AI selects matching dates. Adjust them based on your prospective venue's availability.

2

Turn on anonymous mode and set a deadline

Turn on anonymous mode so family and witnesses can answer freely without influencing each other. Set a voting deadline so you have every answer before contacting the caterer and the venue. Add a message explaining the context.

3

Use the Blockers filter for your essential witnesses

The Blockers filter pinpoints whether a key witness or loved one is blocking a particular date — before you commit to the venue. The Consensus filter reveals the date the most people can make.

Frequently asked questions

On the results page, select the Blockers filter. For each proposed date it lists the people who can't make it — by first name. You immediately see whether an essential loved one (a parent, your main witness) is blocking a date you were considering.

In anonymous mode, respondents see the aggregated results (how many people are available on each date) but not the names of the other voters. As the organizer, you can still see who voted, making it easier to follow up with people who haven't responded.

As many as you like. For a wedding, 3 to 5 options is usually ideal to get votes quickly and avoid scattering the answers. The AI can suggest the most relevant dates based on your constraints.

No. Family and witnesses vote directly through the link, with no sign-up. They simply enter their first name so you know who responded.

Yes. From your dashboard, close the poll in one click. If you set an automatic deadline, it closes on its own without any action from you.
